Life is Like a Piece of Cake, part 2
Have you ever considered all pieces of your life to be parts of the big yummy birthday cake Life is? Many busy professionals are focused on only two or three parts of the whole cake, and they think they will care for the others later, sometime in the future.
In part two of this article we continue to examine our wheel of life:
5. Have fun!
Do you know that babies laugh more than 500 times each day and adults not even 10? Where did all that laugher go? When you laugh you relax and your body thrives. Recreation and joy is one of the most overlooked areas in lives of busy professionals, and it is maybe the one that has the most powerful impact on you, when you pay attention to it.
Question: What would it take for you to have more fun in life?
Action: This week, book time with people you thoroughly enjoy and have fun with.
6. Care for your physical environment
Do you believe your physical environment doesn’t matter? In fact out environment has a big impact on us when it comes to how much at ease we feel with our self and people around us.
Question: What does your ideal environment look and feel like?
Action: What can you do this week to move closer to your ideal?
7. Work your passion
Do you LOVE what you do for work? And how much time do you spend in this career piece? If you are like most busy professionals this is the biggest piece of your cake. That may be ok, the point is to have a balanced relationship with the other pieces, so you release stress and bad conscious, and can concentrate on thriving at work.
Question: If you worked your passion, what would you be doing then?
Action: Where in your current work do you find your passion? Connect to the feeling you have when you do what you feel passionate about.
8. Enjoy your money
Do you work hard for your money? And if you do, do you enjoy the money you’re making? Many women I know feel fear and are afraid of taking responsibility for their own finances. They fall short when they face a challenge like divorce, job change etc.
Question: If you lived in piece and harmony with your finances, how would your life be?
Action: Make completions around money; pay all outstanding bills, pay back people old depths. Set goals how you want your financial life to be.
9. Contribute to your society
Making a difference means contribute from yourself, giving of you to your circle of influence. Contribution must not necessarily mean donating money to organisations you sympathise with. Your contribution can be in writing, lecturing, helping, caring, giving…, and contributing to the betterment of the world.
Question: What do you feel passionate and engaged about?
Action: This week, decide what you will give, and to what/whom you will give it.
